Moore Commits to Campbellsville University

Lincoln Trail College is proud to announce that sophomore left-handed pitcher Evan Moore has officially committed to continue his academic and athletic career at Campbellsville University, one of the top NAIA programs in the country. Moore will graduate this May and plans to pursue a degree in Accounting while continuing his baseball journey with the Tigers.

Over two seasons with the Statesmen, Moore has been a steady presence on the mound, totaling 79 innings pitched, 71 strikeouts, and a 7-4 career record, including a strong 5-2 mark in the 2023–24 season. Known for his calm demeanor, pitch control, and versatility, Moore's development at Lincoln Trail has stood out.

"Evan's strong competitive nature and work ethic will set him up well for success at Campbellsville University," said LTC Head Coach Collin Maynard. "He's come a long way in his time here. His secondary pitches have become a constant challenge for opposing hitters, and his mindset on the mound allows him to be ready for any situation."

Moore shared his excitement for what lies ahead, both on the field and in the classroom.

"The thing I am most excited about is the opportunity to be part of a winning program that has a real shot at the postseason," Moore said. "Campbellsville gives me the chance to compete at a high level while also working toward my Accounting degree. That balance is really important to me."

Looking back on his time at Lincoln Trail, Moore credits his coaches for preparing him to succeed at the next level.

"Playing for Lincoln Trail has helped me gain the experience of playing college baseball," he said. "Coach Maynard and Coach Wells have helped me develop my pitches and have put me in different situations during games, which have helped me become a Swiss Army knife on the mound."

Coach Maynard emphasized how Moore's ability to adapt has prepared him for the jump to the next level.

"He's pitched against some of the top hitters in the region, many of whom are moving on to high-level programs, and Evan has always stepped up to the challenge," Maynard said. "I believe he's ready to step onto the Campbellsville campus and make an immediate impact."

Moore explained that choosing Lincoln Trail was part of a larger plan and a key step toward reaching his goals.

"I knew coming to Lincoln Trail was an investment on my family's and my part in order to play at the next level," Moore said. "But it wasn't until Campbellsville reached out that I realized I could play for one of the best NAIA programs in the country. Coach Maynard really helped me see how competitive and respected their team is."

Beyond refining his mechanics, Moore said the experience at LTC helped him grow into a more strategic and confident pitcher.

"Since being at LTC, I've gotten to face so many different types of hitters, guys going D1, D2, NAIA, and beyond," he said. "That experience helped me learn how to attack hitters in different ways. The coaches here have helped make my pitches better, but they also helped me understand how to use them in a game to keep hitters off balance."

Coach Maynard believes Moore is more than ready for the challenge ahead.

"Evan has all the tools to succeed at the next level," he said. "His preparation, competitive drive, and willingness to learn are exactly what you want in a guy stepping into a college program. I'm excited to see what he accomplishes at Campbellsville."

Before heading off, Moore shared one final piece of advice for players hoping to follow a similar path.

"My advice to any player is not to be selfish. Baseball is a team sport, and while you may be concerned with selling yourself to another school, that school will only find you if the team is successful. Not only does Lincoln Trail give you the opportunity to get better at baseball, but it also allows you to become a better person. Use the time you have here to become a better teammate and push your fellow players to get better too, because if the team succeeds, it will only help everyone out."

As Moore prepares to begin the next chapter at Campbellsville University, he does so with gratitude for his journey and the confidence to keep moving forward.
